Devin's 8th Birthday
This past weekend was Josh's niece Devin's 8th birthday, and, as tradition has it, we made a fantastic cake for the occasion! Her theme was a Mexican Fiesta, so we decided to make a broken pinata with candy spilling out and various fiesta-inspired sugar items surrounding the cake, including a cactus "8", a pinata stick, maracas, and chili peppers! Devin was so excited to see her cake--we kept it a surprise from her until the day of the party, and when she first saw it, her jaw almost fell to the floor! We are so happy we got to make this cake for Devin and that we helped make her fiesta a success!

Out Professionals networking meeting
Cathy and I just got back from a Networking meeting of the Out Professionals group, and we had such a blast! We met so many fun and interesting people in all different industries, from accountants to graphic designers, maritime lawyers to bed-&-breakfast owners. Such a fun, diverse group of people! Andrew had his "coming out" in his new position as Director of Public Relations, and let me tell you, he did an amazing job! If he were on the payroll, he'd definitely be getting a raise! But of course, he's not, so he'll have to stay content with getting paid in cake scraps :) We can't wait until the next OP meeting!

Roulette wheel cake!
We made another casino-themed cake this week, this time in the shape of a roulette wheel! It was for our friend Erin's future brother-in-law James. Inside was our delicious chocolate brownie cake and cookies and cream buttercream. We had so much fun decorating this cake and we wish James a very happy 30th birthday!
