Wii Cake on WiiNoob Blog

We had the immense pleasure of being included in the WiiNoob blog for our Wii cake. WiiNoob is a fantastic blog about not only the Wii system, but practically everything to do with Nintendo--from reviews of new games and accessories to reader-submitted Nintendo art and crafts! Mini Fashionista

Last week we decided to surprise a good friend of Jacy Cakes who has helped us out so much, with a cake to say Thank You & Happy Birthday!! Elaine is always super sleek and fashionable, so it was a lot of fun to make a tiny version of her covered in her favorite accessories, including a newsie cap, gold hoop earrings and a scarf. Sitting next to her is a replica of an Aldo bag we thought she might like that fit her style. The cake was red velvet- her favorite- with raspberry buttercream filling, and we hope it satisfied her cake fix, for the week anyways :o)

Hydrangea Class

I was asked to teach a hydrangea class for the NJ Decorator's club in August, but the class filled up so quickly that we added a second one in September! Here is a mix of pictures from both classes. Thanks to all the talented ladies who took the class, and thanks also to my lovely assistant Joshua :o)

Fashion Night Out in New York City!

Cathy and I are both huge fans of Project Runway and we love anything related to fashion. We were asked to participate in New York City's annual Fashion Night Out, in which many of the city's fashion designers and retailers stay open for extended hours to give their customers a glamorous and elite shopping experience, all while collecting clothing and donations for the NYC AIDS Fund. We were honored to donate hundreds of these fashion-inspired mini cupcakes to the event. Fancy lady Class

This post is long overdue, but a few months back Cathy was asked to teach a class on how to make a fancy fondant lady for the NJ Cake Decorators Club & she had a great time! Small Works, Big Idea!

Jacy Cakes artwork was on display for the "Small Works, Big Idea" exhibition at the APW Gallery in L.I.C., NY this weekend. The theme of our pieces was of course Cake, Art, Fusion & here are just a few pictures from that night.
